Revolt on the Benterprise

Gordon Triumpant, Ben DespondentOne day, on stardate 2 5 1 2 3 4 6 9 8 4 3 4 0 1 1 0 1 6 9 8 4 5 2 3 7 . 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1, a certain Lieutenant Commander Gordon Scot led a revolt aboard the starship Benterprise. Captain Avery was thrown in the brig and Gordon took his place aboard the stately vessel.

Captain Gordon ScotCivilian Criminal AveryAfter successfully completing Avery's court martial for having a blown-up ego, Lieutenant Commander Scot took the Benterprise into dry dock for a refit. While the starbase repaired the Benterprise and refitted her with the new CLR-NET model transwarp drives, Lieutenant Commander Scot received a promotion to the rank of captain for doing Lamefleet the honor of getting rid of that horrible pest, ex-captain Avery.

While Avery was being rehabilitated, Captain Scot flew off in the refitted Benterprise, on a mission to attack the Lamulans. Using his new, untried engines, he flew off to the attack. Suddenly, over subspace, the Benterprise received the following message:

This is Your Ship

This transmission definitely proved that the Lamulans knew nothing of the grand ship's new power. All of a sudden, a Lamulan warbird appeared right in front of the Benterprise! Gordon rapidly whispered something to his second, and he began working some controls. Then Gordon shouted, "Activate the new CLR-NET transwarp engines!" The engineer did so. VROOOM! The engines were on. Then--

SPUTTER! SPUTTER! COUGH! CLANG! The engines died. Captain Scot, who had been knocked out of his chair, looked up to see to enveloping type Rs and a type S coming at the Benterprise from the warbird and two war eagles that had previously been cloaked. Gordon wailed.

"A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A H !"

Lamulan Attack Suddenly, chaos occurred. The Benterprise slowed to impulse and launched a shuttle to distract the torpedoes. They slammed into it, turning it into a miniscule sun for a fraction of an instant. An instant later, Captain Scot ordered all weapons fired at the Lamulans. One was destroyed, but the other two were unscathed. However, at that moment, the USS Nova-Scotia and her captain, the daring Jean-Luc Kanost arrived. After sustaining more damage, the Lamulans turned tail and warped out of the system to get reinforcements. However, as they left, they launched their remaining, real torpedoes. As it turned out, one was tracked on the Nova-Scotia and the other on the Benterprise. Captain Kanost was able to evade his. But the overconfident Captain Scot was unprepared, and the Benterprise was struck. The resulting damage was too terrible to describe.

AH BUT!

if the torpedoes were fake, then the shuttle would not be destroyed yet. And if they were real, then the Lamulans couldn't have rearmed them so quickly. And even if they could have, one Lamulan torpedoe isn't enough to snap a Benterprise refit vessel in half. So THERE!

Very well, then, the ship wasn't snapped in half. Unfortunately, while the authors were arguing, the Lamulans were able to return with reinforcements. In total, they had six more ships. The Lamefleet ships were in big trouble. The Lamulans launched all their torpedoes, drawing out all of the shuttles. The torpedoes proved to be fake, and Lamulan phasers destroyed the shuttles. When the Lamulans launched fifteen real torpedoes, the Benterprise and the Nova-Scotias had no choice but to retreat. This was when Captain Scot put his master plan into action. After transwarping away from the pursuing torpedoes, they met up with the fleet of combined Federation ships and those of the newly-discovered race from Zykos. The entire Lamulan defense fleet now consisted of a Federation dreadnought, a Benterprise class refit vessel, two cruisers, two destroyers, a Zykosian dreadnought, and a Zykosian cruiser. The fleet was assembled; they began to pursue the Lamulans.

Combined Fed/Zyk Fleet

Andros FleeingWhen the fleet caught up with the Lamulans, they were in for a big surprise. As they came upon the scene, they found, in place of the Lamulans a fleet of Andromedan ships. There was a Dominator, two Intruders, and nine satellite ships. The Andromedans decided to pick a fight with the fleet. The Zykosians, who hate everybody, turned tail and ran, leaving the Federation to fend for themselves. Fortunately, Jean-Luc Kanost was a very good negotiator. He gave fifty percent of the profits to the Zykosians, and offered to pay for any damages they might sustain, so they decided to stay and fight. Upon firing at the Dominator, the Fed/Zyk fleet made a startling discovery. Due to their battle with the Lamulans, the Andromedan power absorbers were still full of energy, despite frantic dissipating. As a result, the fleet was able to crush the Andromedans. Over half the Andros were destroyed, and the rest began retreat maneuvers as fast as possible. They went into warp, and were never seen in our galaxy again.

With the Lamulan/Andromedan menace over, the fleet disbanded, and the Benterprise returned to dry dock at Starbase 17 along with the Nova-Scotia. When they arrived, they docked for damage repairs and went on board for shore leave. However, when they arrived by transporter, a security contingent was waiting to take Captain Scot into custody. They had used the truth serum on Avery, and had found out about the mutiny led by Scot. Gordon was thrown into the brig, and Avery was restored to his command. The Benterprise was refitted with the new X-Technology "Tubax" engines, while Gordon sat unhappily in the brig awaiting his court martial.

Three years had passed, and Avery had left on a seven-year mission. On Earth, Gordon's court martial was taking place. Lamefleet was in a real predicament. Scot had led a mutiny on board the Benterprise, yet he had also been primarily responsible for preventing an Andromedan attack on the Federation. After several hours of debate and discussion, the Lamefleet jury came up with a jury decision-- Gordon would be remanded to the custody of Starbase 17, where he would do assistance work for two years, with a temporary rank reduction to lieutenant. After such time, he would be transferred to the destroyer Vengeance, where he would become a captain again. With that, the trial ended.

EPILOGUE

Captain Avery left for his seven-year mission to the other side of the galaxy. Unfortunately, when he engaged the X-Technology Tubax engines, the ship elongated to three A.U.s in length, and then rapidly shortened, flinging the Benterprise to the other side of the universe. Neither the Benterprise, nor her crew, nor Captain Avery have been heard from since, at the time of this writing.

Jean-Luc Kanost was promoted to commodore, and retained command of the Nova-Scotia as it stayed in dry dock for refit. Due to the mysterious disappearance of the Benterprise, Lamefleet suspended production of the Tubax engines, and did not install them on the Nova-Scotia. The ship was dispatched, and went off into space to defeat the Clingons wherever they may lurk.

After serving his term at Starbase 17, Gordon Scot was promoted to captain, and given command of the Vengeance as promised. There, he became a legend among his crew, who trusted him completely. Although the ship didn't have near the power of the Benterprise, it was a good ship, and an excellent place for Captain Scot to work out new strategies for the time when Lamefleet would give him a powerful ship again. Now, all he would have to do was wait. Proudly aboard the Vengeance, Captain Scot took his place astride the stately vessel as it zoomed toward the stars.
