Prologue - In the Beginning

et me sing to you of the days of yesteryear, when men were men, women were women, and Circus Gypsy Android Plumber Minotaurs were Circus Gypsy Android Plumber Minotaurs. It was a time of daring, a time of adventure, and also (unfortunately) a time of the Three. The Three that were prophesied about in the even more ancient times than these ancient times (one of which was more prophesied of than the others). The Three who posed a greater danger to the delicate fabric of the universe than the evil Lord Mung.

Lord Mung. In the old time year 21300, the Y213K plague had just ravaged the realm of Gon. The realm had barely recovered from this scourge (which, even now, people don't really know what it did, but it was a scourge to be sure), and from the Southeast Realms arose a great evil. Rising from the depths of three pools of mung (the most vile substance in the universe) arose the evil Lord Mung-- and evil he was. He stole candy from children and kicked kittens and baby penguins. Sometimes he ate the penguins after kicking them. (He never ate the kittens-- furballs. And as for the candy, he didn't eat that either. He just stole it because he was EVIL!)

The realm teetered between order and chaos, sanity and insanity. But people had hope, because they knew they still had the String of Power, about which the poem was written:

In a dark tower
There is a String of Power

OK, it wasn't much of a poem, but still...

Then, the dark hand of darkness stole the String from its resting place in the dark tower and took it to an even DARKER tower. Lord Mung's tower. Chaos reigned, and for the next one thousand three hundred and forty two years, the realm of Gon was pitched into an era of despair.

Until now. The time of the Three, which also had a poem written about it:

The time of the Three
Watch out for it

OK, that was an even worse poem, but understand that it's a translation and in the original Gon-lish, it is an epic poem, taking up three volumes. Gon-lish is not spoken much any more, because as a written language it stinks.

The Time of the Three, when Lord Mung's rule could be crushed. But would it? And if it was, would the times that followed be better? Or not better?
