I first encountered this simple but tasty concoction in the dining commons at college. The cooks there always put onions in it, though. Lots of onions. This version, which I prefer, has none, but it would probably be good with a few if you like 'em.
Ingredients:
1 pound hamburger
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 regular sized bag of tater tots
Instructions:
Mash hamburger in bottom of casserole dish, uncooked. Mix cheese and cream of mushroom soup together and spread on top of hamburger. Dump tater tots on top of this and spread them evenly. (Make as many layers as you want.) Cook uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until top begins bubbling.
