Grishny's Doorcard Collection

What, you might ask, is a doorcard? Well, simply put, it is an informational card displayed on one's door allowing passersby to learn all they need to know about the room's denizens at a glance. These particular doorcards were made by me while in college obtaining my degree in graphic design.

My alma mater required every room in the residence halls to keep a card on the door that listed the names of the room's occupants, their classes and majors, and where they were from. Many students just wrote it all down, stuck their boring card on the door, and were done for the year. Not me.

As an art major, I felt compelled to demonstrate my creativity with our doorcards, and to replace them at regular intervals. I frequently butted heads with the residence hall beaurocracy and had to redesign several; in the end this increased the doorcard count. You'll probably take note of the fact that with each passing year, I had less and less time to work on new doorcards. Having made thirteen my freshman year, by senior year I was down to just two.
