My Family Photo Album

In its first form, this album was my first "presence" on the web. It all started in March of 2000 when my firstborn son came on the scene, and instead of sending multiple copies of photos out via e-mail, I decided to put them up on a web site and just send links. That way, our friends, family members, and casual acquaintences could downlowd and view our darling baby at their leisure, rather than being forced to look at them whenever I sent them pictures.

The album started out on Angelfire, hosted for free on a 25MB account. When that account was nearly full, I just signed up for a second free account and split the album between the two. That was how things stood in 2004 when I finally purchased my own domain and moved everything over to lacellodesign.com.

In 2004, the album had around 300 pictures in it. Around the same time I started hosting it on my own domain, I also got my first digital camera, and the pictures started to grow, seemingly exponentially. As of the beginning of 2007 when this version of Grishny's Tower launched, the album had a little over 2,000 pictures in it!

Because the album was so large and had long been maintained as a separate site from Grishny's Tower, I chose to keep it looking like a completely different web site. When entering, you were effectively leaving this web site and entering a separate one; there was no standard navigation to get you back in here. You had to use your browser's back button, find one of the random links to a Tower page that are in the album photo captions, or you could always just open the album link in a new tab or window.

In October of 2009, I finally made the decision to host the album on its own domain. So now, by clicking the link below, understand that you are leaving this site for another, and as it's stated above, there's no simple way back here from there. That doesn't mean I don't want to show you pictures of my kids, though!
