Grishny's Sweet Mixes

There are two parts to the story of how these recordings came into existance. First of all, I've always enjoyed music and even experimenting with making up my own tunes. In high school, I had a friend who had an old Yamaha PortaSound keyboard/synthesizer. Korbet was "upgrading" to a bigger and better keyboard and sold me his old one for thirty dollars. I'd never had one as nice as my buddy's cast-off, and I spent hours playing with, making up my own melodies and recording them with the Yamaha's limited memory.

Then in 1994 I got my first PC, a Packard Bell 486 preinstalled with Windows 3.11. One day, Korb played for me a short bit of music that he'd recorded onto his computer and then mixed with various sound effects using the standard Windows Recorder system software. Well, that set fire to my imagination and I went home and went crazy trying to outdo Korb. The following "sweet mixes" are the result. All of the files below are in MP3 format. The only recording not created by me is the "Korb Mix," which is the one that inspired all the rest.
